Dear Ken & Nancy,

I was at your seminar in January '98 where we met, and I thanked you for your tremendous influence upon my parents' lives in Australia. You asked me to write out the story for you and ever since I've been convicted by the Spirit for not staying true to my word. I wrote it out, then typed it and lost it, but hadn't taken time to redo it. Here is what happened in brief.

I have a "Sunday school & Bible camps" background, strong in religion but not relationship. When I came to know the Lord Jesus Christ personally in 1995, I began praying that my parents would share my excitement and that their faith would come alive too. However, all I received was their growing concern for me : that I must have been involved in some kind of cult, along with angry letters, because I was attending a different type of church than theirs. I was crushed. Then in late 1997, my parents announced plans to separate from each other, after 27 years of a marriage hung together by a cobweb. Shortly afterward, my grandfather died suddenly and the Lord provided entirely for my trip back to Sydney. It was my first time seeing my parents since my life turned wholly to Christ in '95, and it was there that my parents' affection for me grew. They could not deny that my faith was real. When I returned to California, I sent my Dad the book, "Discovering the Mind of a Woman," not knowing how he'd receive it.

Just a couple weeks later he got on the phone telling me that I was the most precious thing, "... in all my years of reading the Bible, this book is second most valuable to me to the Bible." This stunned me more than the tears in his voice. Then, I received a call that left me in more shock. Just the night before, a friend and I had prayed for my father's salvation. Little did I know the effect our prayers would have, especially at work the next day.

I thought the caller was another broker from New York playing games with me, as I certainly didn't recognize the voice. "I love you so much," were the words he repeated when I realized it was my Dad. "I'm a new man... 'if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation'... Jesus is holding me up." Tears rushed into my eyes to hear my Dad like a man electrified, glorifying God. This was so opposite of the Dad I knew growing up. "now your mother and I are so much a part of each other. Before, our relationship was purely physical. Now it's physical, emotional, & spiritual. We are complete in God. Halelujah!" Then came words I'd craved to hear for so long: "whatever you need, I'll coach you in it, God and me!"

My Mum later wrote through email, "I can't believe how much your father has changed!" Needless to say, they stayed together. Mum began begging me for the book "Discovering the Heart of a Man," wanting to have a taste of this incredible writing that my father had been transformed by. I can't describe how grateful I am for the impact that God's message made upon my Dad from Ken Nair's testimony through his book. It has also caused the relationship I have with my father to blossom.
